    1983年陈逸飞赴纽约于哈默画廊举办首次个人画展；1985年，哈默博士（西方石油公司董事长）访华，并将陈逸飞的作品《家乡的回忆——双桥》作为礼物赠与中国领导人邓小平。这两件事情的达成，与世艺网董事长于学文（曾任西方石油中国区经理）先生的一手策划与安排是分不开的，于学文先生对陈逸飞及其作品推崇有加，在陈逸飞艺途发展期间多次给予帮助。kujxujpdKqA)!ESE6N9@J)gG)n85q!xAi3)CmnFX世纪在线有限公司
    现于学文先生得见此次陈逸飞画册出版，回忆起往昔旧事，不禁感慨万千。

陈逸飞年表

1946年 生于浙江省镇海县，父亲陈庚赉为化学工程师，母亲范雅芳为家庭主妇。同年全家乘船移居上海，同时他的母亲就是他最早的艺术启蒙者；

1951-1960年 5岁入读宁国路小学，自此与艺术创作结下不解之缘。由于在美术方面表现出色，进入少年宫学习绘画；

1960-1965年 15岁时不顾家人劝阻，考入上海美术专科学校，在校期间接受了严格而全面的美术基本功训练，学习素描、绘画、模等。为日後在美术方面的成就打下了扎实的基础。于上海美术专科学校毕业後，入上海画院油画雕塑创作室；

1965-1979年 创作了一系列的颂扬革命的大型油画：《黄河颂》、《红旗》、《领总统府》，及一批重要作品如《踱步》等。他的多幅作品入选上海美展、全国美展。在领略到西方名画真迹之後，其心被深深震撼，为进一步探索西方艺术，决定前往西方游历，“亲眼看看西方名画原作”；

1980-1981年 经香港赴美国纽约自费留学，在纽约亨特学院攻读美术硕士学位。到罗耶艺术修复与装裱公司修画，令他有机会接触到大量西方名画家，使得他更迷醉在画艺的世界里，对西方作有更深入的认识；

1983年 在纽约哈默画廊举行的首次个展非常成功。至1990年，先後在此举办5次个展；

1984年 以双桥为素材的《家乡的回忆》连同他的其他的作品展出後，引起轰动。其中《桥》被联合国选作首日封。同年取得纽约亨特学院美术硕士学位；

1985年 哈默博士访问中国，将陈逸飞的油画《家乡的回忆—双桥》作为礼物赠与当时的中国领导人邓小平；

1988年 首次到西藏北部及甘肃南部游历，对西藏神秘独特的风俗民情产生共鸣，创作出一系列以西藏为主题的油画；

1990年 在东京西武艺术馆举办个展。自此年起，陈逸飞频到中国及亚洲各地绘画和举办画展；

1992年 于香港国际艺术博览会，举办“陈逸飞回顾展”。同年为拍摄电影《海上旧梦》成立陈逸飞工作室；

1993年 《海上旧梦》参加首届上海国际电影节和中国台湾“金马奖”电影节；

1994年 是其“西藏时期”，集中创作以西藏为主题的油画；

1995年 与英国玛勃洛艺术公司签约，成为该公司旗下画家；

1996年 上海博物馆举办陈逸飞回顾展；

1997年 北京举办陈逸飞回顾展；

1999年 完成反映上海当年拯救犹太难民的纪录片《逃亡上海》。《领总统府》被古巴邮政选为纪念邮票；

2000年 中国邮政发行的“陈云同志诞辰九十五周年”纪念邮票再次采用陈逸飞作品；

2001年 陈逸飞把目光投向平面传媒，投资推出了国内目前最精的时尚杂志——《青年视觉》；

2002年 陈逸飞和香港TATLER合作了《艺术家·上海TATLER》；

2005年4月10日 陈逸飞因病逝世。

Chronology

1946:  Mr. Yifei was born in Zhenhai County, Zhejiang Province.  Chen Genglai, his father, was a chemical engineer, and Fan Yafang, his mother, was a housewife.  In the same year, the whole family moved to Shanghai by boat.  His mother was the first to recognize his talent in art.

1951-1960:  Mr. Yifei attended Ninggulu Primary School at the age of five, when he began to create the work of art, which was to be his metier for life.  He was invited to the Children�s Palace to learn painting due to his outstanding talent.

1960-1965:  Mr. Yifei was enrolled at the age of fifteen, despite objections from his family, in Shanghai Art School, where he received comprehensive and vigorous training in the fundamentals of arts, and learned sketching, drawing, molding, which prepared a solid foundation for his future accomplishments in the arts.  He joined the Oil Painting and Sculpture Studio at the Shanghai Art Academy after his graduation from the Art School.

1965-1979:  Mr. Yifei made a series of large-scale paintings with the revolutionary theme like Eulogy of the Yellow River, Red Flag and Seizing the Presidential Palace.  He also created important works such as Thinking of History from My Space.  Many of his works were selected for art exhibitions both in Shanghai and nation wide.  After viewing the western masterpieces in the original, he was overwhelmed, and decided to travel to the West, so as to �see the western masterpieces in the original with my own eyes�.

1980-1981:  Mr. Yifei went to the United States via Hong Kong to further his studies at his own expense.  He was enrolled at Hunter College for the Master�s Degree.  In his spare time, he was working as a painting restorer at Royal Art Restoring and Mounting Company, which provided the chance for him to meet with many well-known western painters.  He was overjoyed in the world of arts, and attained a deeper understanding of the arts in the West.

1983:  Mr. Yifei held his first one-man show at the Hammer Gallery, which was a great success.  And he was to stage five shows at this gallery till 1990.

1984:  The exhibition of his works, especially that of Memories of Hometown caused a huge sensation.  Bridge was chosen by the United Nations as the first-day cover.  In the same year, he received his Master�s Degree from Hunter College.

1985:  When Dr. Hammer visited China, he brought Chen Yifei�s painting, Memories of Hometown:  The Twin Bridges, as a gift for the Chinese leader, Deng Xiaoping.

1988:  Mr. Yifei paid his first visit to northern Tibet and southern Gansu Province and felt a resonance with the unique and mysterious customs and mores of Tibet.  As a consequence, he created a series of oil paintings with Tibetan themes.

1990:  His one-man show was held in Seibu Museum of Art in Tokyo.  From then onward, he travelled frequently to different places in China and in Asia, both to paint and hold exhibitions.

1992:  �A Retrospect of Chen Yifei�s Art Works� was held in Hong Kong International Art Exposition.  In the same year, Chen Yifei Studio was established to make the film, Old Dream on the Sea.

1993:  Old Dream on the Sea was selected for the first Shanghai International Film Festival.  The film won �The Golden Horse� award in the film festival held in Taiwan, China.

1994:  The year of his �Tibetan Period� , during which he focused on paintings with Tibetan themes.

1995:  Mr. Yifei signed a contract with Marlborough Fine Art Gallery, and joined its roster.

1996:  �A Retrospect of Chen Yifei�s Art Works� was held in Shanghai Museum.

1997:  �A Retrospect of Chen Yifei�s Art Works� was held in Beijing.

1999:  Mr. Yifei completed the documentary film, Escape to Shanghai, which depicted the rescue of the Jewish refugees in Shanghai during the war years.  His Seizing the Presidential Palace was selected for a commemorative stamp by the Cuban Post.

2000:  The Chinese Post Office selected his works as commemorative stamp for the 95th Birthday of Comrade Chen Yun.

2001:  Chen Yifei turned his interest to the print media and invested in the launching of Youth Vision, the most elegant fashion magazine in China.

2002:  Mr. Yifei collaborated with Hong Kong Tatler magazine and launched Shanghai Tatler, also known as The Artist in Chinese.

2005:  Mr. Yifei passed away on April 10th.

Preface

    陈逸飞先生是当代中国享誉国际的出画家。他曾在劫後馀生的文化断层间，找回浔阳遗韵的风姿，江南午後的宁静，小桥流水的思念，安顿了一代人浮躁的眼神和心灵。而後，他又日夜求新求变，扩充绘画生命，拓展视觉艺术，作出极大贡献。

    美的事业，熬人心血。陈逸飞先生正当盛年，却将光彩吐尽。噩耗传开，海内外一片震惊哀悼。今家人筑墓于此，嘱我写碑。我仅想以一言告知日後凭吊者：这里安息着一个人，他曾以中国的美丽，感动过世界。

Mr. Chen Yifei is a great Chinese artist of our times, who enjoyed world renown. After all the ravages that the Chinese culture had suffered through during the 20th century, he managed to retrieve among its ruins, the elegance of the lingering melody of Xunyang, the serenity in an afternoon in South China, and the charm of a little bridge over flowing waters, thereby offering tranquility to the restless eyes and minds of a generation. Thereafter, he searched for the new and the innovative without cease, and in the process he enhanced his life as an artist and enriched the visual arts, to which he made supreme contribution.

The creation of beauty is an enterprise that exhausts the heart and soul. While still in his prime, Mr. Chen Yifei had already manifested all the brilliance and splendor of his art. When the news of his passing came, it was received with shock and grief all over China and overseas. His family members are building a tomb for him here, and have asked me to prepare an epitaph. To the mourners in years to come, I wish to convey in a simple word: Here rests a man who once moved the world with the beauty of China.

    为纪念陈逸飞先生去世3周年，天津杨柳青画社出版《陈逸飞》精品画册。

    陈逸飞先生是当代中国享誉国际的杰出画家。他曾在劫后余生的文化断层间，找回浔阳遗韵的风姿，江南午后的宁静，小桥流水的思念，安顿了一代人浮躁的眼神和心灵。而后，他又日夜求新求变，扩充绘画生命，拓展视觉艺术，作出极大贡献。

    陈逸飞，1946年生，浙江镇海人。1965年毕业于上海美术专科学校，入上海画院油画雕塑创作室，曾任油画组负责人。1980年赴美国留学，1984年获艺术硕士学位，后在纽约从事油画创作并在华盛顿、纽约、东京等地举办个人画展，作品被博物馆和收藏家广泛收藏。

    油画册同时推出精、简装两版，内收录陈逸飞不同时期创作的油画作品，题材涉及革命历史、古典仕女、音乐人物、上海怀旧、水乡风景、西藏等陈逸飞生前力作119幅，几乎囊括陈先生画笔下所有风格，其中不乏《黄河颂》、《占领总统府》、《踱步》、《浔阳遗韵》等经典油画作品，且难得的是，大量未曾面世的精品也收录其中，画册大6开本，进口用纸，材料考究，印制精美，以大格局的构架，向读者展示大师不平凡的艺术魅力。

    陈逸飞早期英雄主义题材创作，显示了他在画面上对大场面的超凡控制能力；他笔下的美人生动柔美、清新温婉；画中的江南，安宁、详和，给人无尽遐思；陈氏的音乐家肖像作品极其富于生命活力，画面造成了音乐家、乐器和乐曲之间的微妙的呼应关系，在神秘的画面里，诗与画紧密相关，水乳交融，音乐家的面部表情化解于音乐中，而聆听者也渐渐融入了音乐家的内在生命；而后他游历西藏，与当地藏民生活在一起，他对藏民的生命力以及他们对孩子的温情的爱抚印象强烈而又深刻。他一方面强烈地表现藏民的人性化的情感，同时描绘他们世界的粗犷纯朴的真实，这是自现实主义大师以来的一种强烈的新现实主义。

    《陈逸飞》画册完美诠释，作为一个画家以绘画的方式对他所经历的这一世纪的中国历史变迁的透视，娓娓向人们诉说，仿如一卷卷胶片组成的真实形象在画外延伸着、呈示着的。很多作品经过他的上海式改造，就变作一种美丽的怀旧，以其东方韵味感动着观众，作为艺术家，他的一生充满了梦想、浪漫和激情。。。。。。

生 平

陈逸飞，1946 年4 月12 日出生于浙江省镇海县，五岁入读上海宁国路小学，开始显露艺术才华。十一岁入读浦光中学，加入学校美术组，受到施南池老师的美术启蒙教育。十五岁时，考取上海美术专科学校预科，开始接受严格而全面的绘画基本功训练。1963年以优异成绩直升同校大学部油画专业，师承俞云阶先生，从此与油画结下不解之缘。

1965 年，上海油画雕塑创作室成立，陈逸飞提前两年毕业，成为该创作室首批专业画家之一。他与另一位业余画家合作的水粉画《知识青年的楷模——金训华》使他崭露头角。二十四岁时，他担任了上海油画雕塑创作室油画组负责人，

从1970 年至1980 年的十年是他绘画艺术创作的重要时期，大型油画《黄河颂》、《开路先锋》、《红旗》、《踱步》以及《占领总统府》等

优秀作品的相继问世，为国内美术界所瞩目。这一时期的美术作品为他的艺术人生奠定了坚实的基础。

1980 年，他只身赴美自费留学，开始了新的历程，成为上海自费赴美留学艺术家的先行者，历经数年艰辛的勤工俭学，于1984年取得纽约亨特学院艺术硕士学位，并传奇式地进入了纽约著名的哈默画廊。

1983 年10 月3 日，他在哈默画廊成功举办了首次个人画展。1985 年,美国著名企业家哈默博士访华，将陈逸飞的作品《家乡的回忆——双桥》作为礼物赠与中国领导人邓小平。同年，他的个人画展在华盛顿科克伦美术博物馆举办。他的江南水乡题材油画《桥》曾被联合国用于首日封。在他与哈默画廊合作的十年时间内，许多作品被世界各地的博物馆及藏家收藏。纽约时报称陈逸飞的画风为当代浪漫写实主义。

上世纪九十年代初，受中国改革开放大潮的鼓舞，陈逸飞怀着一刻炽热的爱国心，回到中国，回到了他从小长大和曾经工作过的上海。此时的他除坚持继续作画外，将艺术触角伸向了视觉艺术的非绘画领域，在上海创立逸飞集团，业务涉及影视、服饰、模特、环境艺术、多媒体等。

1993 年至1996 年期间，他拍摄了《海上旧梦》、《人约黄昏》、《逃亡上海》等多部影片；其中《人约黄昏》参加1995 年法国康城电影节，入围特别荣誉单元。同样，参加马其顿的曼纳基兄弟电影节，获“银色摄影机奖”。

1995 年，陈逸飞与世界著名的玛勃洛艺术公司签约，成为该公司旗下画家。他的水乡、仕女、西藏等各类题材的多幅作品在佳士得、嘉德等拍卖行的拍卖中屡创记录，代表作品有《浔阳遗韵》、《罂粟花》、《山地风》等。

近年来，陈逸飞竭尽全力实践其大视觉艺术的理念，率先在上海泰康路实施创意文化产业，并继续拓展在出版、建筑、多媒体等领域的发展，积极参加浦东世纪大道大型雕塑、世纪公园等一系列建设，将自己的智慧和美学理念融入了上海城市的现代化进程。他还积极参与2008 北京奥运会以及2010 上海世博会的筹办工作，以他独特的国际眼光，开展与国际上各界人士的交流与合作，为此倾注了大量心血。作为著名美籍华人画家、视觉艺术家、他在国内外诸多艺术领域取得了令人瞩目的成就。

Chen Yifei was born on April 12^th, 1946 in Zhenhai County, Zhejiang Province. At the age of five, he attended Ningguolu Primary School in Shanghai, when he evinced artistic talents. At the age of eleven, he entered Puguang Middle School and joined the art group, where he was initiated in art training by Mr. Shi Nanchi. At the age of fifteen, he became enrolled in Shanghai Art Preparatory School, where he received vigorous and comprehensive training in the fundamentals of painting. In 1963, with his superior records, he directly advanced to the University, majoring in oil painting under the tutelage of Professor Yu Yunjie. From then on, oil painting became his destiny. In 1965, when Shanghai Oil Painting and Sculpture Studio was established, Chen Yifei graduated from the University two years early, and became one of the first professional painter in that studio.  He collaborated with an amateur painter to make a gouache named The Model for Intellectual Youth---Jin Xunhua, which received renown. At the age of twenty-four, he became the chief of oil painting in that studio.1970-1980 was an important decade for his artistic creativity, with large-scale oil paintings such as Eulogy of the Yellow River, The Pioneers, Red Flag, Thinking of History from My Space, Seizing the Presidential Palace,etc. When these superior works came out in succession, they attracted much attention in the Chinese art scene. His works during this period laid a solid foundation for his future life in the arts.

In 1980, he went to the United States on his own, and commenced a new journey. He was among the pioneers of those Chinese artists who paid their own way to the States. After several years of toil and study, he received the Master’s Degree in Arts from Hunter College in New York in 1984. At the same time his works were displayed in the famous Hammer Gallery in New York, which was a rare feat.On Oct. 3^rd, 1983, he held the first one-man exhibition, which was a great success. In 1985, the well-known Dr. Hammer paid a visit to China, and brought a painting by Chen Yifei, Memories of Hometown---the Twin Bridges, as a present to the Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping. In the same year, his personal exhibition was held in Corcoran Art Museum in Washington D.C.. His painting Bridge, based on the theme of the South China’s water country, was selected by the United Nations as the first-day cover. During the decade of cooperation with the Hammer Gallery, his many works became collector items for international museums and private collectors. In the view of the New York Times, the style of Chen Yifei’s art reflected the contemporary romantic realism.

At the beginning of the 1990s, Chen Yifei was encouraged by the tides of opening and reforms in Chinese society, and returned to China with patriotic fervor. He came back to Shanghai where he was brought up and launched his career. While continuing faithfully with his painting, he broadened his range to many arenas outside painting. He founded the Yifei Group, whose enterprises were engaged in movies, fashion, modeling environmental arts, multi-media, and so forth. From 1993 to 1996, he made several films, such as Old Dream on the Sea, Evening Liaison, Escape to Shanghai. Evening Liaison was shown in Cannes Film Festival in 1995, where it was honored by being selected for “Un Certain Regard” section. It also won the “Silver Camera” Prize at the Manaki Brothers Film Festival in Macedonia.

In 1995, Chen Yifei signed a contract with the world famous Marlborough Fine Art Gallery, which began to represent him. His paintings with subjects in water country scenes, Tibet and portraits of ladies repeatedly broke records in auction houses like Christie’s and Guardian. The representative works include Lingering Melodies from the Xunyang River, Poppy and Wind of the Mountain.

In recent years, Chen Yifei tried his best to develop his concept of “Great Visual Arts”. First, he created the Creative Cultural Enterprise on Taikang Road in Shanghai. Then he continued to expand in the fields of publication, architecture and multi-media. He actively participated in the construction of large sculptures along the Pudong Century Boulevard, as well as the Century Park, integrating his wisdom and aesthetics into the modernization of Shanghai city. He was also engaged in the preparation for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing and the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai. He dedicated himself, with his unique international outlook, to the heightened exchanges and cooperation with personages in various fields worldwide. As a famous American-Chinese painter and visual artist, he had attained extraordinary accomplishments in many arenas of arts, both in China and abroad.
